Teaching as a career !

Teaching as we all know is a noble profession if you follow an ethical code of conduct. If asked, whether it is great in terms of output ? Then it can just be said that its completely a personal choice whether to go for it or not but in the long run, like any other profession, it is great as well in terms of output. Initially a teacher may start with a salary which might not be enough to run a family but would definitely be enough for her own personal expenses. These days it is often seen girls running for such jobs immediately as fresh graduates. Reason being evident enough, they feel the need to be independent and manage their own expenses. Not to overburden their parents anymore, they even manage their fee for further studies. Later after they are done with further studies, they might just switch careers or stay in the same profession and grow immensely in it. Now, the point is that it is not just a career option to be taken up initially, it is infact a great career option in terms of respect, novelty, output, creativity and quality. When one becomes a teacher, it does not remain a mere job it becomes a great responsibility. You experience a tremendous growth in your own self. You become a different person inside the class, not only you open the doors to success for the students, you do that for yourself as well. People don't really know the potential of being a teacher, a teacher herself experiences that how she finds out several different ways to teach different things and how everytime she brings novelty in her work. While encouraging the students become creative, she herself through them become creative in different ways. All this becomes a regular practice for her and without fail she keeps growing every passing day. Earning is definitely important but what is equally important is to have job satisfaction, enjoying the work you do. Teaching is the most peaceful working environment and a great platform for intellectual growth as well.

To become a certified teacher an undergraduate degree plus one- year B. Ed degree is enough in most of the schools but its different with different types of schools. You can visit the link below for some useful information regarding the same.

Let's now come to the monetary satisfaction part ! Initially since you are a fresher you might experience certain difficulties in earning well in most of the private schools, but when it comes to work for central, orgovernment, or MCD schools then the scenario is entirely different even for a fresher. Pursuing or having pursued B. Ed has now become mandatory to become a teacher but that doesn't get you a government job.
These days there is a sudden inclination towards becoming a government school teacher as it gives you a fixed salary without prohibiting government laws and even if you are appointed on a contractual basis then you are given fixed pay per lecture which is quite amazing. For getting there, there are various criterias mentioned on various sites. Most popular eligibility exams for teaching posts in government schools are-CTET (paper-1, paper-2), TET, DSSSB etc.

Some relevant information is provided in the links below-

In a nut-shell, teaching is all in all a great career option and once you become experienced then there is nothing like that !whichever school you are working in, it would just keep giving you more and more with the experience you gain. Experience is therefore a must in this field. But the best platform considered here is getting into government schools for which the details have been provided in the above links. Getting through these exams is not easy you need to work hard either on your own or you may also join some coaching classes which are available in every nook and corner these days. If your concepts are already very clear you might just get through, what you need is go to the nearest book store and buy a ctet ( or whatsoever exam it is) preparation book by a good publisher and then prepare from it. In addition to all this teaching only takes you to become a principal, a headmistress, a coordinator in future. You will experience great authority, respect and job satisfaction in every sense of the term if you carry out yourr responsibilities perfectly and take your profession seriously !
